Top cyclists from across the Philippines to compete in Sta. Elena City in May
Sta Elena City - For the first time, the country’s best professional cyclist and age group athletes will converge in Sta Rosa Laguna to visit VISTA LAND’s master planned development - Sta. Elena City as the residential community hosts the fifth in a series of Tour of Camsur Qualifying events held all over the Luzon Island. The 2011 edition of the Tour of Camsur Qualifying Series presented by Fit+ EVENTS went under way in 2011 with the first round in Golden Haven Las Pinas City in March. The Sta. Elena City event dubbed “Vuelta Sta. Elena” will take place in May 7, 2011.
FIT+ Sports Inc., in cooperation with the Youth and Sports Development Program of Governor LRay Villafuerte, will be the organizer of the “Tour of CamSur 2011” - this year’s most prestigious international cyclo tourism event for both professional and executive riders which focuses in sports tourism. This coming May 21 to 29, CamSur Water Sports Complex will host the biggest international cycling tour in the Philippines. It boasts the biggest prize money on offer and will focus on the tourism hot spots of the southern tagalog region.
The Tour of Camsur 2011 covers a gruelling 1000 kilometers, point-to-point, through Southern Luzon's world-renowned trails and coast line. The event is open to professional, trade, and continental teams as well as a special division for age group amateur teams.
In line with this, FIT+ Sports set out to organize elimination races leading up to the main event. This is to ensure that only the best of the best will have a chance to battle it out and win the five million peso prize purse - the biggest in Philippine Cycling history.
Sta Elena City was selected because it surpassed the criteria for an ideal International class sporting host venue.
